Our Journey So Far
In 2002, an innovative financial advice practice was looking for software that would streamline its processes and improve client engagement
There wasn’t any software available that met these requirements, so the practice approached our founder Jonathan to create it. Jonathan saw the benefits this software could offer other practices and so OMNIMax was born.
What began as a purely software offering has evolved over the years as cloud-based solutions became the norm. Now, we specialise in developing custom SaaS solutions that help financial services providers improve their productivity and gain more time to focus on supporting their clients on their financial journey. We also offer a range of pre-built solutions that have been developed to suit the needs of financial advisers.
21 years after we began, we continue to help to simplify financial advice and empower financial services professionals.
The OMNIMax Team
Greg Hansen
General Manager
Greg’s deep understanding of our client’s needs, leadership skills and growth mindset make him the ideal person to lead OMNIMax into its next phase of growth and innovation. Formerly the Sales and Commercial Manager, Greg’s experience in this role and his previous 20+ years of sales, marketing, and commercial experience provide a strong foundation for him to oversee company operations, continue to build client relationships, and, alongside the management team, guide OMNIMax into the future.

Jonathan Taylor
Product Manager
Jonathan brings more than 20 years of software development experience and has a genuine interest in combining these skills with his knowledge of the financial industry. He formerly led OMNIMax since its inception and is integral in steering product development and our teams to achieve OMNIMax’s vision and objectives.
Michael Schwass
Finance and Commercial Manager
Michael brings over 40 years’ of experience as a Chartered Accountant, specialising in strategy, management, and finance. Having established and led IT and application development companies as part of his wide-ranging experience Michael forms an important part of our management team with a particular focus on finance and commercial matters and strategic direction.
Jason Butler
Head of Development
Jason brings over 25 years of experience in Information Technology and has worked extensively in New Zealand and the U.S. He has worked across the technology stack in several industries, including leading efforts to develop cutting-edge location services for the insurance sector. Jason is both a Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer Expert and a Microsoft Certified Azure Developer.
Shona Skilton
Implementation Specialist
Shona leads the deployment of our Pre-built Solutions, tailoring each implementation to the client’s unique needs. She works closely with our clients, guiding them through the onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition. With a background in operations and customer support, she brings a strong understanding of user experience and system functionality to our team.
Ben Bolton
Senior Software Developer
Ben holds a Bachelor of Computer Science and is skilled in systems and full-stack web development. He is adept at creating robust, scalable solutions, as well as integrating complex data systems to enhance functionality and user experience.
Theam Yong Chew
Senior Software Developer
Yong is a highly experienced developer and has worked for over 20 years in software R&D and data analytics across various industries including research, marketing and consulting. He holds a BE(Hons) and PhD in electrical engineering. He is also a big fan of the compound interest formula.
Caroline Dovey
Marketing Coordinator
Caroline has over 15 years of experience in B2B and B2C marketing roles in Australia and New Zealand. She possesses a wide range of skills across digital marketing, marketing strategy and data analysis. Caroline holds a Bachelor of Commerce, specialising in Marketing.
Hamish Begg
Senior Software Developer
Hamish holds a NZCE in Electronics and Computer Programming and is highly experienced in software development and testing. His previous roles across the industrial technology, transport and SaaS industries, enable him to bring a range of skills and experience to OMNIMax.
Max Bean
Junior Software Developer
Max is a recent graduate from Waikato University and holds a BE(Hons) majoring in Software. Max has experience working with both common and esoteric programming languages and maintains various mods in his free time. He hopes to gain plenty of experience during his time at OMNIMax, and is very proud to represent 42.8% of our company’s name.
Jakib Isherwood
Junior Software Developer
Jakib holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Philosophy, bringing a unique blend of technical expertise and analytical thinking to software development. He actively contributes to both frontend and backend development, specializing in TypeScript and C#. Jakib is motivated by opportunities to expand his technical and professional skills, whether within traditional software roles or exploring areas like game development.

Laura Churstain
Finance Administrator
Laura has over 14 years of experience in account management and administration, with a background in finance, general admin, and insolvency support. She holds a Bachelor in Viticulture and Oenology and has worked in the wine industry both in New Zealand and overseas. Outside of work, she enjoys family time, kids’ rugby, and walking in the Port Hills.
